i was raised a witness, baptized at 16, vacation pioneered, got married, etc.

i was very much your typical witness and believed it was the truth until last summer.

a very close relative of mine left the witnesses.

We had a star member, jgnat, who had been on for 13 years, with almost 25,000 posts. She was very level headed, kind, thoughtful, loving and had a brilliant mind. I am sure she would have posted something positive and up building for you.

i think you are a very brave and honest individual and I am sorry that your awakening to WT lies, has caused sorrow to you and your husband. Just know that you are not alone and keep posting for there are people here who have been in your shoes. It is summer time, so some might be on vacation. There is a search engine in the upper right hand corner. Maybe do some searching for past threads and comments that pertain to your situation.

Sad about the past

today i feel deep sad memories in my brain.. visiting bookstudy with my parents, doing my best giving answers at 7 years old.. doing fieldservice every weekend and on an evening.. i could write so much story's about it.. we believed from our hart and listened to what the organisation told us.. it makes me sad, what a scam it became.. today i can't stand it.. i can cry about it.

My vote is to cry and recognize what you have been through.

It is hard to look back. There were some good times. There were bad times. For me, it helped posting here. For 2 years I ranted and (yes) cussed and vomited out all sorts of situations I was privy to. I am a nice person that wants happiness and kind hearted people in my life. I am an adult. I am in charge now. Not WT. Not 7 uneducated men pulling ideas out of who knows where. I grieved loss of life time friends, until I realized they were JW drones, and I do not choose to associate with any drones.

Yes, I hear you Gorby. Are you missing your parents or missing the sweet little boy you used to be that was lied to, big time?

It hurts to be swindled and WT did swindle all of us.

Recently, I have been thinking of how very happy I am and how pleasant life out of WT is. And then I had a new thought. My life now, is how normal people live their life. Pleasantly. Doing what they want to do.

Gorby, I hope you can make time to post more and let us know how your life was. We are here to support you.

a few years ago, prior to researching the field of "bloodless medicine", i was under the mistaken impression that bloodless surgery was a field of medicine that sat "outside" of the watchtower influence and operated as a part of mainstream medicine.

since that time, i have discovered that "bloodless medicine" has been founded and maintained by the watchtower society itself.

bloodless medicine is the watchtower society - it has been organized by people who have been trained by the wts and therefore, the bloodless industry is controlled by the wts.

Yesterday, after watching that tape, I was astonished. Could my American government be lying to us? I googled and spent some time reading and listening to interviews that suggest John McCain lies like a psychopath, to cover up his dirty deeds.

I believed when the US government said that there were no more POW/MIA military personnel left in Viet Nam, Laos and Cambodia, but it was a lie. He left those Americans to die. It is so shameful, it is hard to think about.

Did the society official track each member of the 144,000?

when i left witness land in the early 90's, i remember hearing that out of 144,000 anointed members that there were only 8 to 9 thousand left and then the end will come.. i'm suddenly curious.

the jw organization is one that puts emphasis on tracking, i.e., regular meeting attendance, current standing, field service hours, territory tracking, return visits, etc.

therefore, did the society ever try to track each and every member of the 144,000?

Back in the 1950's, 1960's, 1970's and further back, (but I never personally saw any older than that), on your Publisher Record Card, beside asking you if you were 'A' anointed or 'OT' other sheep, they asked if you owned a car.

@OP... Of course 'The Society' knew exactly how many professed to be 'Anointed Kings with Christ', all of them hoping to go straight off of a launching pad to their preferred place for 'special people' when they died.

WT is all a man made up business corporation, masquerading as a charity to shovel in the money for them and their financial advisor's, lawyers and other bottom feeders.

Demoted from elder to MS, anybody ever heard of this?

so a friend in a nearby hall told me their co came through, and in a hellish week of long meetings and inquisition overhauled the boe.

only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.

he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.

My 2 cents: An Elder needs to have all the latest doctrinal changes in his head. He is the local go to guy that is supposed to have all the Bible (WT) answers. MS, can slip by a bit with this.

Maybe this CO has no sense of humor and at the Elder's meeting, started picking on brothers to answer his WT questions, and you better have the latest flip flop answer. I know I couldn't do it. Maybe some of the Elder's answered with last month's latest doctrinal beliefs. Not this month's. (Last month little kids could keep their ice cream money, this month they have to give it to the GB). lol

Oh what happy freedom to think one's own happy thoughts, than to be in Watchtard Land. lol

many brothers own businesses that a greatly supported by witness activities.

when local congregations need some service they will prefer to do business with a jw.

My KHall was doing a remodel, years ago. All trades were supposedly doing their work on the KHall for free, or so, we the congo, were told. When the hall was almost finished, out comes this brand new oak podium. Then it was announced that this beautiful (I didn't think it was beautiful) plain, all wood, (clumsy looking) no screws, piece of work, only cost the congo either $350.00 USD or $450.00 USD. (The raw wood at the time would not have been that much at all, so he was recovering his cost plus his time). Some of the brothes were beaming like it was their little junior that made it, others were like, questioning, why does he get paid for his "contribution" of work, and the rest of us are doing it free for Jehovah. I found out later that others were getting paid, under the table, too. Yes, the ones that were paid were those "top" Elders in the know.

Disgusting.

Does The Governing Body Have Enemies At Bethel?

i would think that a lot of resentment is building up for these for these guys at bethel even though it may not be discussed openly for fear of being abused by the gb in some way.. any way looking at their personality and the extreme phoniness of rubber mouth/face lett, and am#3, and the chicken shit coward leosch who won't even show up in court when subpoena'd to defend his faith or policies, and i'm sure they have many more undesirable traits that repel people instead of attract and that has to work its toll on relationships they have at bethel.. and this shunning thing i'm sure must really erk some at god's house and while they may not be free to voice their discontent i feel it must be building because these guys are complete nincompoops when it come to reality and the only way they know how to give direction is with fear and guilt which i'm sure is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.. and let not forget the issues that are raise when they stole all the congregations savings and the pledge drive for more cash, ban on higher education, lawsuit pay out and etc.... what is this doing to the relation ship they have with legal and accounting i see trouble brewing right thier in the spiritual pair of dice..

Myself, I know of only one person with a voting share. He was a missionary, Branch Overseer and is still completely loyal, last I heard up to 5 years ago.

In October, before the Annual Meeting starts for everyone who has a personal ticket for entry, the first of that morning is for only elite JW's who have voting shares. This is their annual business meeting. If you cannot be at the Annual Business Meeting in person, there is a prozy to fill out and send in.
